chamois butter is pretty good as is Udder Cream. The latter works fine and a bit cheaper than the butter but not as thick and hence does not stay as long.
I have a couple of Pace bibs that were chafing me as well, and since I didn’t have anything else, I rubbed Bodyglide all over them. Worked like a charm. Stays pretty good, too.

I’m cheap. I’ve been generously applying vaseline to tenderpoints and the chamois. It’s been working well so far.
I’ve been ithcing to try the chamois butter and the ASSOS, but they’re way pricier. Maybe if I ever start doing double centuries. So far it’s OK with centuries and the one double metric that I did.
Anyone out there tried ASTROGLIDE??? On they’re chamois, I mean.
Try Bag Balm --for cows. But it’s really cheap and works!
I use bag balm at night, but it smells so strong that everyone knows you are using it.
“Oh!.. I think this guy riding up here is using Bag Balm…yep! he sure was!..Phew!”
I like the Assos because it makes my rump tingle.
What does your ‘significant other’ think about that?
I have used shaving cream before (the new Gillett stuff) it worked great, but if you over do it you will get foam through your shorts! Not very pretty to look at but a joy to ride with
Trader Joe’s Udderly Smooth.
$4 for 12 ounces.
.
Assos, though Elite Ozone is pretty damned good. Chamois Butt’r is good to spread on a wet chamois after washing, but that’s about it.
U sure it wasn’t Tiger Balm?
I don’t know. Do tigers have bags? Actually, no bag balm has a pretty strong and distinctive smell. I haven’t smelled tiger balm.
Well…male tigers do
Tiger balm is a very aromatic muscle pain reliever. Cinnamon and Clove are pretty predominate (smells a little like Necco wafers after it’s on you for awhile)
Yes, that kind of bag, but I think the ‘bag’ in Bag Balm is the udder.??? I definitely could be weong on thsi one. I’ll reread my can…can of bag balm.
Yeah, don’t confuse the tiger and the bovine–
.
That might be fatal.
