Other than large watches, the other problem I have as a woman wearing a heart rate monitor is that it chafes the bottom of my breasts. I would bleed so badly that by the end of a ½ IM my white singlet would be pink. The doctor told me to stop wearing it as it was leading to calluses and that is not a good idea as any thickening of breast tissue is an invitation for breast cancer. Anybody else have this problem and find a solution?
My sister has had trouble with her HRM chafing her. The Polar jog bras helped and she also puts Tagaderms on the problem areas to protect them.
And maybe even some Bodyglide in the creases? Gosh, that sounds painful, I hope you find a solution!
Try wearing your HRM a little lower. Mine fits and stays just fine right below the edge of my sports bra…although I often tuck a small section of the elastic strap underneath in the back. Oh yeah…Bodyglide the heck out of yourself too.
