Two weeks ago I did a local mini-tri and got a bit chafed down south, near the berries. Following morning it was weeping. I tried to keep things clean as I could with neosporin.
Woke up this week with full-on jock itck (crotch rot). add to that that I’ve also got some serious monkey butt going on.
I am a mass of groinal discomfort. Any suggestions for this fabulous Friday afternoon?

I have some Lotrisome lotion that works well. I think it was a prescription though. I thought I had the same problem after an Oly, but I now think it was just the rash healing and itchy, no fungus. New shorts were in order for me as it was the second time in as many races.
That’s a bummer, i’d google it and do what they recommend i’ve never had that problem before but i can’t imagine your 50 will be possible. If that doesn’t work you could always try more cowbell.
Try Desitin. Yes, the diaper rash stuff. It keeps the wound dry and helps promote healing. Put it on at bedtime then lube up during the day to prevent further chaffing. It works for me.

Use the “creamy” kind in the squeeze tube. Post workout/shower I put it on and then put some old boxer jocks on that I don’t care if they get stained.
Anti-monkey butt powder (maybe for the ride)
Lotrimin & Tinactin spray (they’re different ingredients, I find it will respond to only one… good for drying but stings like a bitch)
Boudreaux’s Butt Paste when you can (maybe at night?)
+2 on the Desitin. A lady friend put me on to this and another product, think it’s called Penaten (appropriately?). For prevention it costs much less than the bike shop chamois lube, though doesn’t have the dznuts cachet. I use it for long rides and half-irons. Maybe try some of the medicated stuff to help recovery.
