Are the single position aero posts available without an attached bike yet? I want one for a soloist (S1) build. I had a HARD time finding one two years ago since Cervelo didn’t sell them. I have a 2008 soloist and assume the posts for soloist, SLC and S1,S2,S3 are the same. I need a large or medium size if anyone has one.
if there is a nearby cervelo dealer they will probably have some lying around.
however, cervelo says officially that, while the single position will fit in the s1/soloist, that it is not recommended and can cause cracks.
I don’t know if that makes sense or not, maybe it is a slightly different size.
hmm, I remember hearing something like that. Do you know if cervelo makes a single position post (or at least on with less setback than the two position) for the soloist/S1? I still might be inclined to try a single position in the soloist - if I can find one.
I got one from my local Cervelo dealer for my soloist team at the beginning of the season. I believe the shop guy just pulled one out of an S2 and sold it to me. To be honest, it actually fits better than the aluminum two position post. Maybe they made it slightly thicker, as I no longer need that annoying brass shim.
It’s a good way to shave 1/4 pound or so, and it’s a nice clean look.
You see them pop up on the classifieds every now and again. I would put a wanted ad up, and I’m sure you’ll get one.
