I have searched the forum as well as the internet and can’t seem to find an answer regarding fit of the above combo. My gp4000s 23 fits in the rear, but doesn’t in the front. I am running an old vittoria corsair eco 23 up front now, but generally prefer continental. Anyone know of this combo works, or if the attack 22 measures a bit less in height than the gp4000s?
It is hitting the downtube. The specific tire I tried had some good use and might have stretched a bit. The wheels I am using are light-bicycle lb-45 rims, which are very similar to the FC303 in dimension. My frame is a 54.
I will order an attack and give it a go. Might switch the rear out for a turbo cotton when they come in black.
That is weird that it touches.
I wonder if you could sand down the frame so it doesn’t.

This must be an anomaly of a particular frame size. What size is your frame? I have an S5 VWD and I’ve been using Conti GP4000s on both Enve 6.7 and also Bonty Aeolus D3 5 carbon clinchers and I wouldn’t say the tire is even close to coming into contact with the downtube.
More than just the size, I know guys with a 54 that use that tire.
Hopefully it isn’t a knockoff!

Very strange.
It was the specially-priced $1,000 S5 VWD off eBay from last month!

I can’t use a brand new 23C 4000S on my size 56 S5 (white base model). It will rub right near the brake mount. A couple hundred miles of wear is enough for it to barely run free.
A 24C Turbo Cotton actually clears better.
Edit: Doh! I misread that as being about the rear, and that’s what my comment is about. On the front, no problem though.
I tried a few different wheels and the issue was the height of my rims. The combo was just too tall. I ordered an attack front and will run that on the rim instead of the gp4000s.
New issue is the rear brake. My force calipers block the bolt that holds the brake+ bracket combo to the frame. It rattled loose yesterday on a ride, as I can’t fully tighten the brake to the mount before I insert combo I to the frame. I think I am just going to switch over to a pair of cervelo mach II calipers, as their arm does not block the bolt.

You can replace the “button head” bolt with a hex head bolt (from the local hardware store) and then tighten it from the side with a small crescent wrench. That’s what I had to do with mine to mount a TriRig Omega on the back.

I am riding a 56 VWD… 404 FC and Conti 4000S tires. No rubbing.

For the Omega, you shouldn’t have to do that – if you remove the cable hanger, you can get direct access to the button head bolt, as shown here: http://www.tririg.com/...roduction&num=21 (this one is a socket head, but works the same as a button head).
And then just re-install the hanger once the brake is bolted on to the bike. That’s what I did for my S5, P3, and NP3 installations. Worked just fine in all cases, no aftermarket bolts needed.

I know it’s not necessary…but, I found it easier not to have to deal with the removal/installation of the cable hanger and its 2 small screws. It’s tight in there…here’s how it looked before going to the hex head bolt:
