Oh my dear lord…I’ll let the pros handle this critique job…

(nice bike)

not my bike nor did I take the picture. I just put the blue stripes on it. My Parlee post shows I know the ST picture rules!

I was gonna say something but felt like being nice… I mean its really a what ones not like the other in this photo.

Nice paint … for a short, old person with lots of money apparently.

One step up from a tricycle. Seriously, whats the point?

Pros – chain’s on the big ring, and it doesn’t have a disc on the back. And there are not 3 cm of spacers on the head tube. Cons – the seat bag – could it be a little bit bigger? Decor – is this guy living with his great grandmother? Bottom line: I’m jealous.

Perhaps that’s a portrait of the rider in the background?

Rider is a woman and a college student so I would guess parents or grandparents house. You know women generally have a huge purse why should this be any different.
This girl is not slow.
One thing I have noticed about the S5 is that it has spawned alot of new bike sales at my local shop. I would bet that not since the intro of the P3C was there this much activity over a new cervelo model.

i like the blue a lot. are the stripes a decal or did you have to remove paint?
or did you put the blue on top of the old stripes as a decal?

my other thought is that bikes that small really should have 650 wheels!

you can tell they start wonking the geometry at size 51 but I bet feet still smash that front wheel. maybe some 165 cranks would help.

The blue is high gloss decal material over the factory paint. We went with the decal instead of paint so if she changes her mind and also to avoid any waranty issues.
Unlike this other that I did where it was a repaint to change the stripe and letter color along with the flat clear.

I know! I did not take the picture

WOW! That is one bad ass looking bike! How much would you charge roughly for that paint job? I might be interested in same look on a new S5.

I think that picture wins for best looking bike I have ever seen. Ever.

one of my favorites for sure

That’s the first S5 I’ve seen that didn’t look awkward and out of proportion.

Agreed…my first thought when looking at it was “a Cervelo BMX bike!”

The seatpost from the 58 was used as the 56 post was above minimum insertion fo rthis rider. It has a 140 stem on it but I think he may go to 130. I think the flat clear really changes the look of the frame by hiding some of the shape. Was not a fan of the new headtube but it is growing on me. The first time I saw one I thuought the fork was to skinny for the width of the headtube.

This bike really suffers if the paint isn’t perfect. The team version looks weird to me but it’s much nicer in white. What you’ve done here really makes a difference. I think you’re right about the head tube but something about the seat clamp area bugs me too. This is all asthetics mind you.

This comment has nothing to do with the paint job, but wow, that bike is just plain fugly. I agree with others, at that size, 650 wheels makes a lot more sense.

The saddle bag, bar tape and garmin thingy are too much for my eyes.

Grannie’s gonna kill her when she sees she got chain grease on that chair.
