I’m really interested in a P3 but I’m a couple hours from my nearest cervelo dealer. So I don’t have a home town shop to work with.
What are cervelo’s policies with regard to minimum retail prices? Are frames available over the internet? Is there price competition out there?
I’m not looking to ruffle any feathers, I’m just trying to make a smart decision.

Frames are available over the net. However, the prices are so remarkably consistent (within $ 1 in most cases) , that I would say that something is going on with regard to what dealers must promise the company regarding minimum sale prices. Don’t know the policy myself, but circumstantial evidence seems to point to a definite lack of price competition out there.
No price competition on current year frames.
I say check out Excel Sports (I think they carry Cervelo) and other on-line shops. Excel is really good about notification of things like availability, etc., and they are super responsive. Love 'em. Colorado Cyclist, too.
