I’ve searched here, Cervelo’s website for tech info and have found nothing.
I’ve started gathering components and need to know a few things. For instance, what size bottom bracket and headset do I need. I see different dimensions listed when I look them up.
The BB has an english thread and the width will depend on whether you run a double or triple crankset. Spindle length won’t matter if you have the outboard bearing BB design.
Headset size you want is 1 1/8" and Cervelos typically use cartridge bearings with 36/45 degree contacts. If you have no idea what you just read I would head down to your LBS so they can order the correct pieces for you.
The technical aspects of your question have been answered welll and correctly but I wanted to add that I actually owned one of these bikes and liked it enough to buy the subsequent model year *and *the new carbon version. I think you’ll enjoy it.
My goal here is to build it right… whether or not I can do it justice is another story altogether. ;^)
The same logic I apply to acoustic guitars, guns, etc. Buy the best one I can manage, then, I can’t blame anything on equipment error.
