Especially for Tom, since he had tested a P4. What are the standard wheels that come with the Cervelo package? And then for you who have preordered, what wheels are you planning on using: standard only, or replacing with XYZ?
Thanks

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufactuer) parts kit will likely include a basic, workman-like Shimano wheel if Cervelo’s prior spec choices are any indication. Cervelo is not listing an original parts kit on their website yet.
For race wheels on my P4 I am using a Zipp 60 mm deep front and a flat disk rear.
i was beginning to think a standard wheelset wouldn’t even fit this bike as all i’ve ever seen on it are race wheels.
but really, wouldn’t it be hilarious if the stays were too tight to fit a regular set of training wheels? : )
am curious to see how ugly it really looks once you take the zipps off and put on plain old spoked wheels!
The irony is I can already hear it: “I read on Slowtwitch, you can’t put training wheels on a P4! I read it right on Slowtwitch!”
It’s that game where one person at one side of a room tells a person something, then they turn to the next person, repeat it, then it gets repeated to ten other people in the room and at the end of the the 12 or so people the last person says what they were told and it has changed substantially.
That’s the way it is!
I heard that if you buy a P4 and zipps, you shouldn’t tell your friend who you’re competitive with that you did, because he’ll just start riding an extra 50 miles a week and crush your dreams on his Felt S32 with training wheels.
Seriously, I read it on Slowtwitch, it must be true.
Thank you Tom. I needed the help in budgeting. So it’s frame + component package + hed/zipps. I really appreciate the information.
