Cervelo P3C - rear wheel clamping

I’m just about to ride my P3C for the first time. I’ve noticed that some rear wheels have bigger tires than others and that when I put a few in the frame, some have to be clamped further back in the dropouts than others so that they don’t rub on the back of the seat tube. I’ll race with a Zipp Disc but I’ll also train with an assortment of regular wheels. Any advice on making sure that the wheel doesn’t pull forward while you are riding. I’m assuming it’s just a matter of really cranking down on the quick release but the whole issue makes me a little nervous, especially if you are in the start house and really go hard out of the gate. That kind of torque could pull the wheel forward and make it rub on the frame. I’m a little surprised that the frame doesn’t have little adjustable drop-out adjusters that would could be set to prevent a wheel from sliding forward.

It doesnt? My P3alu does. hmmm

My P3C has the screws…although they are not intended for holding back the wheel (it’s the clamp force that holds it in place), they do probably offer a little benefit for keeping everything aligned.

If your P3C doesn’t have the droput screws, then they were removed. It SHOULD have dropout screws and you should use them to align the wheel before you clamp it. But as has already been suggested, it’s the clamp force that should hold the wheel in place, not the dropout screws. They’re guide to help you get things lined up.

Maybe I didn’t look closely enough. I didn’t see them at first glance but I’ll look again. I forget what year my frame is. If I had to guess, maybe a 2005?
