Cervelo’s pattern the past few years has been to offer the same P2SL frame with a different paint job. I heard a rumor, however, that the Dual will not be produced next year. Makes me wonder if they have something in the pipeline. They’re probably working on a P4C. Anyway, my bet would be the same P2SL frame with a new paint job. With carbon being all the rage currently, I doubt Cervelo will make any new Aluminum frames anytime soon. I could be wrong though.
The real question is: will the price of the 2008 P2SL drop to that of the Dual’s?
Gerard himself said it better than anyone: It is easy to come out with something new, difficult to come out with something *better. *

Cervelo has seperated themselves from other bike companies as a leader in true technology and engineering- not just “trends”. For that reason a lot of other companies are mimmicking design cues from Cervelo in their designs. Look at the number of bikes that now resemble a P3C rear end or have a variable geometry seatpost- I can think of at least four manufacturers off the top of my head that “borrowed” those concepts from Cervelo in their recent designs- and that trend continues.
The reason is simple: The ideas Cervelo has developed *actually work. *They are actually improvements that help the bikes be faster, more durable, easier to work on, lighter and more comfortable.
Since Cervelo has spent so much time refining, developing, refining some more I doubt we will see much that is completely different fro them in '08. They have become refreshingly detached from model years. I hope the P2SL stays largely unchanged since it is an awfully nice bike as it is. There may be a version using the new Shimano Ultegra SL or maybe even a SRAM group, but beyond that, I hope they remain the same.
All that said Cervelo swore up and down there was no such thing as a P3C until it was unveiled at Interbike. I suppose they could surprise us all and put a lot of egg on my face with this post, but I doubt it.
The truth of the matter is, if another company came out with the P2SL *today *as their new 2008 tri bike it would still be a very advanced bike. For Cervelo, it is simply proven technology.
