I’m looking at buying a new P2K from my LBS and they are telling me a 52cm will fit me. At 5’10" with “normal” dimensions for that height I would have thought the 55cm would be more appropriate. I was just wondering if anyone out there around this height rides a 52? If so, does it fit or would you have preferred a 55?
I’m 5’ 10", and I ride a 54cm 2002 Cervelo One. I have my seat all the way forward on a zero-setback post, and I have a 90mm stem, and the reach is still a bit long. I don’t know what my dimensions are, but I don’t think it’s out of the question for you. Whether or not it is right, I have no idea. If they are trying to sell you one off the floor without modification, I’d be cautious. If they went through a pretty thorough fit process and are going to swap out parts to make it fit you, I’d trust them a little more.
I just bought mine about 3 weeks ago got a good fitting on a 55 cm. I’m about the same size as you. 5’ 10" 160 lbs. Are you sure what seat angle they have on the bike (75 or 78 seat tube angles) that may be the difference. Other than that I suppose you should either really put the questions to them or be willing to walk away to go to a different shop
Thanks for the reply, that makes me feel a little better. They did say they would make any necessary ajustments to front end(aerobars, stem length, etc…) in order to get it right and usually coming down a size in a tribike works out okay.
I’m just over 5’10 and have a 56cm dual. Which I can get plenty low on and still have some wiggle room on the front end and the seat height. I would probably be better on a 55cm p2k but I think a 54 cm would be to small for me. I rode my Dual yesterday for the 1st “real ride” of the year (it’s snowing here today by the way) and I felt like I didnt have anything at all under me. I cant imagin what a smaller bike would feel like.
Good luck Cervelo’s are great bikes youll love it.
I am 5’ 10" and my girlfriend is 5’ 7" and we both ride “55 cm” P2K Cervelos. The Cervelo sizes are virtual sizes–they really are a lot smaller than 55 cm, but they both fit very well.
I would say that unless you have extraordinarily short legs, the “52 cm” P2K will be far too small for you.
same here… 5’10" w/ 31.6 inseam professionally fitted on a 56cm DUAL.
I am 5`11 but with a short torso. I ride a 54 cm P2K (650), seatpost forward and 100 m stem. I have the seatpost at its maximal extension.
The 54 (650) and 52 (700) have very similar top tube length (less than 5 mm difference) so it’s certaily possible that you might fit on a 52.
However, if you have a normal built, a 52 may be on the short side, especially if you are planning to ride it in a forward seat post position. You might need a very long stem.
Just make sure they are not trying to get rid of a 52 cm they have in stock.

Also, “coming down a size in a tribike” is fine on a typical tri-bike, NOT on a Cervelo P2 or P3.
This is because their ‘virtual’ sizes are already much smaller than road bike sizing. For example, our ‘55cm’ P2Ks actually measure just under 51 cm center of BB to top of toptube.
5’9" 165lbs and I ride a 54cm P3 Steep!
I’m about 5’8" with approx 29-30 inch inseam and ride a 52 P3 w/ 700c wheels,so I guess in my case I’m more torso than legs. I ride in the steep position and the fit is fine.
I’m 5’11 and ride a 52 p2k. I was sure I was going to be a 55, so I had all 3 certified fitters at the LBS check me out, and each said the 52 was right. They were happy to order me a 55 if I wanted, and they could “make it work”, but they recommended a 52.
The point is I’m comfortable on the 52, faster than I ever was on my road bike, and thats what matters, not the number on the down tube.
I am 5’ 10" and rode a 55cm P2K, and currently ride a 55cm P3. It fits great…
Let me guess, the 52 cm was in stock and the 55 cm was not. Which LBS did the fitting?
Do you use any spacers under your threadless stem? How many spacers (or more importantly how many total mm of spacers) do you use?
I’m about 5’8" with approx 29-30 inch inseam and ride a 52 P3 w/ 700c wheels,so I guess in my case I’m more torso than legs. I ride in the steep position and the fit is fine.
Ditto - I am same height, size, inseam…I’m on a 52cm P2K w/700c - Been on it for over a year now and the fit is right on.
I’m an even 6 foot and ride a 58cm P2K. I’m pretty symmetrical between upper torso and lower. I couldn’t imagine riding the 55cm.
you’ll love the ride. Great Bike!
I’m just under 6’ and ride a 55. It’s a perfect fit. That being said I wouldn’t buy any tri bike without making sure that the people who are fitting me are FIST certified (or have a really solid rep in tri-fitting).
I purchased mine from a tri-dedicated store…owner fit me and he’s a recognized expert (and FIST grad). My bike fits me like a glove.
