Cervelo P2C vs Argon 18 E-112. Any opinions on those?

I’m not trying to compete, this is just a hobby for me but I am thinking about getting a real triathlon bike. I prefer carbon frames because I like how they wrap around the rear wheel. I also prefer Quebec made bikes but Canada made would do and I would consider buying from anywhere; this is just a preference.

I really like the look of the P2C but there are just so many of them out there. Also I would need to get the dura-ace one because I want my next bike to have colors on it. Not just tones of black/gray.

The E-112 is great and has even better lines at the rear but does not look so good around the seat post and front tubes. Also I think it would be more expensive than the P2C with similar components.

As you can see I am basing my decision purely on aesthetics since there is no way I am going to be on the podium anyway. I’m just wondering what are people’s opinions on those 2 frames.

E-112 are not currently available, so not a lot of comparing to do. They “should” be available real soon though…within weeks.

If you’re basing the choice on aesthetics, why are you looking for opinions? Shouldn’t you just pick the one that you think looks the best?

just to be funny:)… isnt a quebec made bike at the same time a bike also made in canada??? and do you realise that both these bike arent made in canada but in asia?

if you go for look, go with what you thing look the best, but only the cervelo is available at this time.

I’m aiming to get a product that is as local as possible. This means that something from Quebec is more local to me than something like Cervelo that is from Canada but in another province. I realize that most parts are made in Asia but this is true of everything.

Look will definitely be judged by me only but I wanted to see if anyone owned or had tried those and had any opinions on them besides how they look. I was not aware that the E-112 was not available yet.

Ideally I would find both in a bike shop and get them to fit me and let me road test each and I would choose the one that fits me best. I am not sure if this will be possible. My LBS does not carry any tri bikes in inventory, they only special order them.

i understand… in my mind… both companie are the same on this… they are both born in montreal and have started there… and so if a lot of other company…

quebec as ‘‘produce’’ devinci, cervelo, argon, marinoni, Bertrand, and many more…

what about Guru, they are in Montreal.

Don’t forget Guru.

I have soft spot for Quebec–

dam…guru…i knew i was missing something… and a few more i m sure!

I love those too but they are definitely on a higher level from a price perspective. I can get a dura-ace p2c for 3k. E-112 go from 3k-4k depending on components. Gurus are 3k for the frame alone!!! But they do look great and are built close to where I live.

if you plan to choose your frame & set-up on aestetics you should get yourself a custom guru and mount it with campagnolo record. dura-ace can never be an option when it comes down to good looks.

as i’m currently broke i choose an e112 with records components because importing a guru to austria is too expensive. ( the frame would be around 3,5k EUROS!!)
