I’m adjusting the fit of my Cervelo P Series but don’t want to yet cut the steerer down in height. The manual references it uses a D shaped expander plug, not the typical cylindrical type.
Am I okay moving the position of the stem on the steerer whilst using the same plug?
The manual does give warnings about not having more than a 5mm spacer above the stem but is it really that critical on a TT bike like this one?
For anyone wondering I did actually dismantle the headset and found the plug on the P Series is traditional round type, not the D plug as shown in some online literature / manual. The one installed on my bike is also 50mm deep so gives some adjustment down from the top cap. Have a 70mm deda one on the way to let me drop it further if I wanted without committing to cutting the steerer down.
