Cervelo NEW makes improvements to 2007 P2C

According to our Cervelo Outside Sales Rep., Cervelo has decided to add an additional color for the 2007 P2C.

The new color is the former 2006 blue/black color scheme everyone enjoyed during 2006. This color is in addition to the new 2007 paint scheme that features white/black/red in a bold, distinctive Mondrian inspored motif.

Additionally, Cervelo rep. tells me the new price of the P2C has been moved *down *to the roughly $3000 even price point.

These improvements make the 2007 Cervelo P2C, now available in two colors at a lower price, an even more impressive value.

BUT what do they come spec’d with?

I cannot find out, Tom help a guy out that wants one of the ugly white and red ones.

t~

The component specifications remain exactly the same according to our outside sales rep.

Damn!

Well I am glad I didn’t splurge on a 2006 when I can get a 2007 for less money and still in the color I like.

How are any shops going to seel their leftover 06 stock when the new model is $400 cheaper?

if that’s the case, that’s a pretty significant price drop…about $600?

So what’s the word on the new seatpost? Available separately, how does the rumored hydration system work?

as far as you know, any adjustments on the 07 retail price for the p2c frameset?

That’s what I am interested in too, I wonder if Cervelo somehow got a better deal from Shimano/FSA/etc. when spec-ing the bike or if they lowered the price on their end.

If the frameset is still $2400 I think you could sell of the parts for a lot more than the $600 difference for the whole bike.

Nope, Ron, our rep, just told me about the bike pricing. I asked him if it was OK to post that info on Slowtwitch and he said, “Go for it”…

No word on frame pricing.

thanks for the info, tom. in any case, that is an impressive price adjustment for the bike. cervelo is proving to be a tough competitor.

I have to laugh… I spend about 3 hours last week on the phone locating a left over 2006 p2c in my size because I didn’t like the new paint color. I got it for a “steal” = 3,195 --delivered.

DOH. Guess I shoulda been more patient.

Hmm…

I emailed a Cervelo Dealer nearest to me and they said the retail is $3400…So who is right and Tom, do you have any 06’s and at what price?

I have a feeling Felt can be thanked for this. B2s are moving soon right? If only Cervelo made a 50cm 650 frame.

Tom, were any of the other Cervelo’s being adjusted down ?

I almost did the same thing, now I can wait a year, get the blue color I want and save $400?

Something seems weird, does Cervelo just want it’s customers to have $400 more of their own dollars? Does it have to do with the B2Carbon coming out from Felt? Have they noticed too many people are buying these things used after a year of use and are trying to cut into that? Did they see there wasn’t enough price difference between the P2C and the P3C and people were just spending the money to get the P3C?

Something is going on.

Amazed they pushed the price down that far…there already was little difference between P2C and P3C, now it is even more of a no-brainer…perhaps they will take P3C down as well to avoid undue cannibalization…bought my P2C this year…fine bike

I think the 2006 paint job is worth it

Tom - killing me, the header is. Out of order, the words are. It’s like that headline, YODA wrote.

I have to give serious props to Austin Tri-cyclist. When I emailed the owner about the price drop (i’d paid 3200; the bike now retails for 3k), he offered to refund money to make up for the price difference even though he’d bought the 2006 bike at the 3600.00 retail price.

While I’m at it, props to R & A for recommending without hesitation Austin Tri-cyclist when R&A said they didn’t have any of the '06 P2C’s in my size.

It’s nice to see two companies working for customers, not just the bottom line competition.
