Ok, I’m a cervelo fan admitedly like many on this board. I own an '04 R2.5 and an '02 P3 and before that an original P2 (not P2k)- yes, my wife loves me. But I was blown away today, not by their bikes, but by their customer service.
I called yesterday afternoon because I needed a small part for my R2.5 and talked to Duane. He took my order and answered all my questions quickly and efficiently. Although, because it was coming to the states he called me back an hour later needing more info. It was probably 3pm when we hung up. This morning at 9:30am the UPS man drops off my part from Cervelo. 16 hours from call to satisfaction. I live in Cleveland so Cervelo isn’t that far over the border but still! Thanks Cervelo.
That’s pretty impressive. I’ve been trying to get a new seat post clamp bolt for my Merckx for a couple of months now (it’s a custom size). I’m told I can try calling the company in Belgium to speed it up (and that there is a decent chance Eddy will answer the phone), but I’ve been using a cut up Coke can shim with a slightly-too-large collar with no problems since August.
Wow, definitely different from my experience. While not horrible, I’ve had relatively poor results for each of the 3 or 4 different warranty issues/other random stuff I’ve brought up to them. I won’t air it in detail here, as I’ve just offered them a great way to fix things. Of course, if they don’t fix it, then I’ll be happy to bitch…
