What is everyone’s opinion on the Cervelo P2K as a bike used in an Ironman
event? I have been told that I will be really uncomfortable on my P2K as
P2K’s aren’t made for an IronDistance event. They are better for Olympic and
Half Iron events. Any truth to this?
Thanks!

I rode my P3 at IMFL . It is flat and you never get out of the saddle. Stayed in the aero position most of the time and found the bike VERY comfortable
Let me guess, the person telling you this is a dealer and doesn’t sell Cervelo?
I’ve raced 2 1/2IM and more than a few 100+ mile rides nonstop entirely in the aerobars. I’ve never ridden a more comfortable bike than the P2k.
Ditto what Tom said.
1 IM and lots of 100-mile rides on my P2K in the last couple years. I can’t imagine a more comfortable ride. It’ll be a long time before I’m looking for another bike.

My wife qualified for Hawaii in her first IM on a P2K, and she did Hawaii on it 3 months later. She loves it.

Have done IMFL on a P2K with no problems, just find a comfortable position and you are there!!!

I just did IMFla on my P2. This was my 4th time there since '99, and my first on the Cervelo. Set my IM bike PR(5:29) at age 52…'nuff said.
Actually, funny thing. The guy that told me that does sell Cervelo’s AND was sold out of them. However, this was the same guy that told me my frame was too small for me (50cm frame) by measuring the seat tube length only. I measured the top tube length and it is in fact what it is suppose to be (54cm). Thanks for all the replies. My mind is much more at ease. I wish I would have asked the guy how he could have explained all the Cervelo’s at IM Hawaii this year. Damn retrospection. ![]()
It sounds like he was trying to sell you whatever was in stock. He has already paid cash for the bikes on his floor and wants to move them regardless of whether the bike is right for you. Remember this next time you ask him a quesiton.
