hey guys i’m new to tris and cycling. i’m have a cannondale r700, which i bought this year. i want to do two tris next year and i want to buy my tri bike just to motivate me. look at that thing every day and hekp me work out harder cause i know ill be riding it next year. i was thinking about the cervelo dual. what do you guys recomend
I love mine.
One of the very best bikes in it’s class. It’s a Cervelo - so what else would you expect.
Every review I’ve read says it’s the best value for the price point, hands down. I bought mine 2 months ago & I practically sleep with it. Love it, love it.
The only changes I’ve made to it was switching the saddle to a Profile Design TriStrike (personal preference, not uncommon for any bike), changed the 53 outer ring to a 48 (again, personal preference) and will be changing the brake levers to the Vision Aero levers (an unnecessary but pretty upgrade.)
Depending on your leg strength/cadence preference/terrain, you may want to talk to the retailer about changing out either the cassette or the large chainring; as are most tri bikes the gearing is just too much. I’m also going to try a 12/27 cassette for a more optimal chainline.
I think I would have been disappointed if I had bought anything other than the Dual in that price range.
I have a Dual 10 - best value for the money.
excellent bike…hard to beat for the $$$…as long as it fits.
… but I should also add that if you’re only doing a couple of tris a year, also have a serious look at the Soloist. It might be a more practical choice.
I love mine.
I have no complaints, except that the Dual 10 paint job is so much cooler then the paint job on my dual 9.
i bought a new 56" '03 dual in march of '04 for my first tri bike after taking many years off. it has lived up to all the press. just bought a softride mainly for longer rides ie IM. The resale values that i see on ebay are unbelievable. mine will be there shortly.
