Cervelo clothing (1)

Anyone bought the shorts? The picture of them looks great. I like the Desoto pad it comes up higher than some others. What is the pad like on the Cervelo? I heard the guy from Rip and Hammer helped design them but the pad on their shorts was cut very low. How do they fit?

I bought the shorts. They are made really, really nicely. I also go the shirt. The shorts’ pad is more stretchy, lycra/foamy than fleecy. Seems comparable or a little bigger in area than my Orca or Desoto shorts. They were quite comfy for a short 30 mile ride.

They fit big. If you are anywhere near in-between go with the smaller size. Frankly, you might just want to go a size smaller than usual. I am a 36 and the L seems just a hair big.

Also, this seemed odd, but there is a lot of room in the front of the shorts - if you know what I mean. More than most other manufacturers. I don’t really need all that room. But my wife says that doesn’t matter.

I assume that you’re talking about the tri shorts. How do they feel on the run? Is the pad noticeable when you run?

Yes, the tri shorts - what they call the FBD. They are great and will be my shorts of choice for racing and brick workouts. I do not feel the pad. I think they are close to perfect. Very good quality.

They are a longer short and they are a bit tighter on the thigh than my others.

I like longer. They are supposed to be tight to stabilize the muscle and lessen injury…?? That’s the theory anyway.

i have two pairs of shorts and the long sleeve TT top. i agree w/john t in terms of going down one size and i also noticed “the extra material in the front of the shorts”. I have always taken the same size short in everything and the cervelo shorts of the same size are a touch too big. Having said that the quality and look of the shorts was very nice. The long sleeve TT top is fantastic - design and fit are outstanding.

I would have to agree with the rest. I purchased the shorts, long sleeve TT top, and the tri skinsuit. This was after having posted and gotten great responses from this forum. So far Tom D. at BSM has the cheapest price I have come across, and great service over the phone. I have started traing in the shorts and they are nice, and better than my Orca’s which have lasted only 4 months. I am really impressed with the tri skinsuit and the TT top. So much so that I am thinking of ordering another and possibly the long sleeve TT skinsuit, but have yet to find anyone that sells the long sleeve version. The fit on the skinsuit and long sleeve top are simply awesome. The shorts on the otherhand are another story. They grip your legs great, but the bulge in the front is a little anoying. They give you plenty of room to run and you are not resticted, but I think they could almost cut out an inch of fabric. It really doesn’t hold them tight, if you know what I mean. I would have liked an inch to 1 1/2 inches higher on the waiste. The others were correct, I usually wear medium, but these are a little loose. I really did not notice the bulge in the front on th skinsuit, and I think I am going to use that for racing this year.

I would like to have one of the skinsuit for TT. Is there somewhere to order them on-line?
