Has anyone switched out their old (metal) cervelo seat post for one of the new carbon ones? If so did you notice any ride improvement with the upgrade? Basically I want to know if it is going my make my butt hurt less over rough roads or if it is only going to be a weight savings.
IMHO, you’re far more likely to feel a more significant change in ride quality by switching to a wider tire or taking 10psi out of your tires than by swapping for a carbon post.
My $.02.
That’s too easy. I’d say try the carbon seat post. They’re about $175 or so. If that doesn’t work, then switching to a nice Calfee frame would be next step. That outta do the trick. Also carbon fiber race wheels would help. Humph. Letting the air out of the tires. What kinda low tech advice is that?
Seriously I’ve always thought of a carbon fiber seatpost as a way to save weight more that smoothing out the ride. Gerard, does the carbon seat post make for a nicer ride on a P2K?

I dont want a new frame, Just want to know if the new carbon seat post will reduce some vibrations to my butt.
very very very very unlikely. differnt seatpost material (steel, al, ti, carbon fiber) wont change the way a bike feels…
