Cervelo Carbon Aero Seatpost - difference b/w swivel and fixed

i have one of each: the older matte finish single position seatpost, and the newer swivel head glossy one. are there any major differences i should be aware of (besides the dual position)? weight or durability difference?

i don’t need the forward position, so i’m selling the inferior one. just trying to compare the two…

thanks

Actually, the single position is the newer model (they came into being with the carbon Soloists), and apparently is slightly smaller in the area that inserts into the seat tube than the older dual position posts. If you want to use the single position in an aluminum frame, it may require an extra brass shim. Using the dual position in a carbon frame might not fit.

The single position post is lighter.

They are interchangeable as I have done it both ways successfully. No extra shims needed when using the single position post on my Cervelo Dual and the Dual position post fits into my SLC with little issue either (I am using the stock single on the SLC at the moment.

Weight on the post are as follows.

Aluminum double ~350g
Carbon double ~250g
Carbon single ~185g

Direct experience is good  I was only passing on what I’ve read Cervelo customer service claim on their forum…and of course used the requisite “may” and “might” terminology

I rode 200+ MPW + raced in all sorts of conditions (including the Boulder Roubaix) for the last 2 years on a single position aero CF post in a soloist team. I’m tipping the scales at 160 lb., if that matters.
