Possible price decrease with the Soloist Carbon? Has anyone heard this or can confirm? Thanks.
The P2C price was dropped $400 after the first year. Let’s hope the same happens with the SLC and the R3.
I can’t imagine they will increase as they will approach the prices of their SL versions of those bikes.
Since they introduced a RS, i think the prices on both the soloist and r3 will go up. And I doubt they will keep both ultegra versions now that the stable is getting bigger.
It seems the trend in carbon bikes is for the price to come down (I assume having to do with first year costs of paying for the mold).
Not sure they could justify raising the prices if nothing has structurally changed. And if the SL versions are staying the same it seems like the prices on the regular versions and SL versions would be getting close.

Well, the P3C, P2C, R3 and new RS color schemes have been shown. I haven’t seen any pics of the carbon Soloist from Eurobike, I wonder if that is getting a graphics change as well.
Anyone have any pricing info on this rumored price change for the R3 and Soloist? Is it up or down? Change on framesets or just complete bikes?

P2C and P3C. I think also the colors are not really nice. I still prefer the black-blue P2C and the red-black P3C. If the grey/silver part of the P3C it would be much better. The actual P2C color is a little better than the 2007.

I was at EuroBike and checked out the Cervelo booth (of course!). Even lucky enough to get to chat with Gerard for a minute. The Soloist Carbon paint is the same for '08, as is the SLC-SL and R3-SL. The R3 has new paint in a white/black scheme (think the inverse of the R3-SL) which I really like, but Gerard said it had mixed reviews. Felix’s post of the P2C and P3C paint is correct. I do like both, and they look better in person than in any photo.
I took a ton of photos… lots of bling, lots of bike porn and even some models getting airbrushed! I will have to get those organized soon…

The price of the P2C with a slightly better kit than this year but the new colors will remain at $3000, so relatively an even better value. No reason to lower the price of that bike, it’s the second fastest of the 20 bikes we had in the tunnel in May, and in 2007 we could never keep them in stock because it was so popular. And frankly, we couldn’t afford to make that bike any less expensive either. That said, there will be an Ultegra and a DuraAce version next year.

I totally agree, which is why I was so suprised to hear about the possibility of a price cut. For $3000 I definitely think it’s the best value on the market. Also, glad to hear you talking about “next year” with regards to that bike because after hopefully getting a road bike this year, that will probably be my next bike purchase and I am glad to hear it will still around.
On to my real question, can you give us any info on road bike pricing? Particularly the R3, but also the SLC and RS? Is the white a go for the R3 this year? Thanks so much, cool to be able to get the answers right from the source!
I heard from my local bike shop, that the black/red/white color of the R3 will stay the same for 2008. The white one will be the new color.
