does anyone have one yet, if so any info on what it is like, stiffness, comfort etc.
Any retailer in the US yet
Never ridden one but I did see it at Interbike. The design seems to be more form over function. Not sure how aero that frame design is but it looks too exaggerated. I was also a little put off when the Ceepo sales rep said that the bike was different from any other in the room since it was made out of high modulus carbon.
I am curious as well. It LOOKS cool and fast, but, I echo the comment that it almost appears to be more form over function. It just seems to me that creating all these “points” would actually create more surface area of the actual bike to push through the air, but, I am not well versed enough to know whether that is accurate.
A couple sites say it is the thinnest walled bike on the market:
Ceepo claims the carbon frame is the one of the thinnest in production, at only 26mm in the thickest spot of the down tube – in reckless violation of UCI regulations.
Material: 100% 40T high modulus carbon construction for ultra light weight

I’ve had one for about a week. I like it. It’s a lot faster than my previous bike. It’s a fairly aggressive position, so I won’t be going on club rides with it, but I’ll definitely be racing with it. I took it out on my local tri course (23k), and it was about 3:20 faster than 2 weeks ago on my old race bike (specialized allez elite), under similar weather conditions. I haven’t tried it with a disc wheel yet - it was too windy.
I am the Key Ceepo Dealer in the SE U.S. feel free to give me a call.
Cheers,
Rich
Can you PM me some pricing/geometry on the katana.
Thanks!
Sarah Groff scored a 2nd place finish on the Viper a couple weeks ago at Cali 70.3.
I’ve been on the Venom since September last year, and have nothing but good things to say about it. Responsive and smooth. Don’t know how ‘fast’ it is, but have heard it tests well in the tunnel and worked great for me at IMFL last year. For comparison I’ve ridden Fuji, Cervelo and Felt over the last 6 years or so.
I really like some of the things they’ve done with the Katana frame, and think the Viper is pretty sweet looking.
does it really only come in two sizes?
Apparently it just comes in the M & L (http://www.ceepo.com/geometry_5.html), but they seem to have a broader range of sizes in the new Katana. The medium Venom is a great fit for me so it was not a concern.

but don’t you work w/rich at fit2tri?? your fit2tri signature line is curiously missing in your posts in this thread. full disclosure?
Just sayin
Fair enough.
Yes, I’m an associate coach with Fit2Tri and Rich has been my coach for the last 5 seasons.
However, I get absolutely $0 from Rich’s relationship with Ceepo or any of his other manufacturers, and paid for my frame the same as other people who have bought from him.
So, its similar to me saying good things about the Specialized road bike that I bought from my buddy who owns a bike shop. I know the guy, get zero out of the deal, but happen to like the bike.
Full disclosure.
It’s very much batmobile-ish, I like that.
I don’t mind a little form over function as long as it doesn’t kill function that much…ie say it’s like the difference between a tri-spoke vs. disc wheel…
One thing strikes me as weird though. Assuming those photos above came from their website: it’s almost advertising that you DON’T want this bike when I look at that rider aboard the bike!
And as for your use of this bike at IMFL…isn’t that a draft-legal event anyway???
Certainly seemed that way at times ![]()
I’m fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you look at it) in that I’m a fairly decent swimmer, so I hit the bike course before most and the packs get rolling. Had a lot of miles basically to myself before the trains came rolling by. Let em go and saw a lot of them again on the run ![]()
Its certainly different than most of the rides you see in transition. I’d be curious to see a comparison to some of the other more well known frames regarding the form/function issue. I personally like the Katana a bit better, but then again I’m more of a traditionalist.
I’m guessing that’s one of their sponsored athletes in the pictures from the website, but maybe not. Definitely not an ST approved position.
What if they can’t get the big names to fit it? No one will buy it : (
Lol, the pic of the rider on the Viper. A buddy of mine. The frame was way small for him and he rides a pretty upright position to start with as he’s a bigger guy and works the power over aero a good bit. He’ll go lower for short races though but for halfs and up he’s a bit higher. Wicked fast biker though, 15th at Kona in his 3rd (maybe it was his 2nd) Ironman. The angle of the pic and the lens makes him look way taller than he really is though and he’s choking up on the bars in the shot accellerating down the hill so he’s up a bit more too.

Full disclosure.
Full disclosure, the next time we both have a reasonably similar planned day on the bike, I will drop you and your Ceepo like a bag of hammers. ![]()
