Very nice looking ride. What crankset is that?

Nice P3C

Nice P3C

Funny how many of the top end TT bikes have morphed into the shape and design that Cervelo has been using for years!

crankset is a Stronglight Pulsion compact.

nice ORBEA(the new one)
.

got 3 pm’s on the bars, they are CKT, distributed by Ceepo as well.

nice Teschner.

Yeah, but the ones following suit continually just totally “JACK-UP” the seat post entrance/area of the frame. I hate the looks of all the other bikes trying to hide the rear wheel like cervelo. Primarily due to the total loss of fluidness at the seatpost area on the frames.

I love the color white on bikes. Looks like fun to ride!

No its not a Teschner, the rear triangle and the head tube are different. I like the Teschner better.

P3 circus (in order)

  1. Aegis T2
  2. Orbea Ordu
  3. Ceepo TT Killer/Venom
  4. Pinarello Montello
  5. Teschner Aerowave
  6. Specialized Sworks Transition

Did I miss any other?

How much is the frameset? The only dealer I see in a quick search is Trizilla, which shows a $3400 price tag, unclear whether that’s for a frameset or a complete bike.

I don’t get the angst against companies taking design cues from others, especially Cervelo, who has led the way on aerodynamic design for a while now.

For nearly 50 years every single bike frame looked just like every other bike frame other than lugs and paint jobs. Nobody ever looked at a Colnago SLX diamond frame and said “Nice DeRosa”. Those two companies went tit-for-tat for many years…so did Pinarello…so did Schwinn (when they were a REAL bike company).

Big deal if companies use the rear wheel/seat tube design pioneered by the P3. Its likely that someone will do it better (or perhaps already is doing it better!) than Cervelo. And in turn, Gerard and Phil will turn out their next evolution. Its competition and its healthy for design improvement.

Man, ST can be a tough crowd sometimes!

Nice bike!

the angst is probably derived from:

  1. lack of creativity
  2. lack of (for lack of a better term) CAJONES (read: unwilling to take their own chance with new ideas)
  3. theft (Cervelo does own a Patent on the concept of the wheel cutout I believe)
  4. lack of engineering prowess (better to just let someone else do the dirty work). This can be a tough criteria here on slowtwits…

There may be more, including ethics, etc.
