Ceepo Katana 5.0

Woa, that’s bad. More so because I had the same issue! my XL frameset arrived last week and it has a paint chip in the back of the seat tube too. It sure seems to have been damaged in the factory before being boxed.

Other than that, it looks really good.I think I’ll get the straight seatpost though, because I really don’t like the look of the stock offset one, and because with 80° seat angle I’ll be good with the straight one.

Turns out the dealer didn’t fully check it and he is taking responsibility for it and saying it’s his fault for putting something loose in the box when it was being transported. But there are zero scratches on the frame or fork - you’d expect them to be a mess if this was true. If you had something similar, that points to the factory. Did yours have a QC sticker?

Either way, it’s a shame. The thing looks awesome. Do you have a product code for the zero offset? It sounds like it would look much better.

Pics so you can compare. Perhaps you could post yours too. Looks almost identical in size between the 2 areas of damage, and I don’t think the compression damage to the paint at the back of the seat tube is consistent with loose shit in the box. Both are also oriented in exactly the direction you’d expect from clamping damage.

Finally got my bike built.
Still needs some tuning and a bta hydration setup, but here it is

Looks sick. I just received my replacement. It will look very different though … as it will be a drop bar road bike.

What’s your saddle bottle system? Is it saddle specific or agnostic?

It is saddle specific, it came with that old Fizik Mistica I bought some years ago

For those curious, Ceepo’s claim that it will fit 32s on wide rims are legit. Quickly swapped in the wheels on my existing road bike, before committing to build it - wide Nextie ARX 60/65 with 32mm GP5k S TR front and 32mmm GP5k A S TR rear.

Massive lateral clearance on the fork, but not much to the crown - maybe you could fit a less tall but wider 34, but it would be extremely tight. Rear I thought would be tight on the seat tube, but actually it’s tighter on the chainstays and more where the seatstays tapered. Opposite to the front, you might fit a taller, less wide 34.

But any 32s will fit on any rim IMO.
