C'dale six13 slice -- only SI BB?

Hi all,

Im intending to get a six13 slice for future tris.
I was looking at cannondale’s website but i cant seem to find a non SI version for the six13 slice.
does anyone know if they are available in english BB?

thanks all!

I’m pretty sure I read that you can add a bushing and install a standard BB.

The “bushing” (a sleeve kind of thing) is installed at the factory by C-D and is permanant. So they technically don’t make the frame non SI, but they can adapt it per request. C-D is pretty upity about using THEIR forks, THIER headtube, THIER BB, etc. Kind of a pain if you dont want to use THIER stuff. And their answer always is: “well why would you not want to use our stuff. It’s the best?” “It’s x% stiffer and y% lighter…” Whatever, just go w/ the industry.

Simply put the frame is available from Cannondale with the Si BB and crankset or without. As for company specific issues…if every bike was designed the same that would be kinda boring wouldn’t it? Atleast a company like Cannondale is always trying to be on the edge of innovation. Other than C-dale, I know Specialized is also producing a specific frame, BB, crank set up. In our shop’s opinion the Slice Six13 is a super sweet triathlon bike. We just recently built one up for a customer with full DA-except for the Si Carbon cranks and a set of Bontrager carbon aerobars-with the trick looking brake levers. It was pretty hot!

Specialized and Cannondale both offer propriatary BB/cranksets. Ironically, the dirty little secret is that the Spcialized set is based on the same bearings and clips as the C-dale, as the engineer that designed one, left to work for the big S and designed theirs (This means that with a little effort you could run an SI SRM on a specialized frame!). We ran a Specialized crank for evaluation in a System6 frame; pretty sweet crank IMO. Cannondale does offer the frame with an adapter for the SI BB. There is no threaded BB shell for the frame , as the cost for qualifying it was deemed too high for the small number that would be sold. The adapters work very well though, but add ~40 grams to the frame weight.
