CdA water temps yet to break 50*?

I also did CDA in 2008 and the water was very cold. I wore a neoprene cap and booties. I would recommend the cap but skip the booties which fill with water. Once you get in the water and everyone starts pounding on you during the swim, you forget about the cold anyway. I’m more fearful of the other swimmers than the cold.

100% accurate!!! You are another one that talk about how special ‘‘this year’’ is compare to the others. I was sarcastic about record winter…what i m saying is, there is always someone like you that come and explain how special this year is and how cold the lake will be.

What i m saying is, lake will be fine on race day…like it will be every years…

I know…the same happen with ironman canada…there is always the rumour that the lake will be too hot and non wetsuit… or will flip over and bet crazy cold. Well, history as show that it s fine year after year…

I would dispute this, but my good buddy (dad) just went through pierce, ID the other day on his way to north fork of the CW and he reported that french saddle is lacking a lot of the snow he was expecting. It sounds like there may not be as much snow as I had previously suspected…thus…the temperature shouldn’t be as low as I thought it’d be. I wasn’t freaking out about the water temp, just mentioning that this might be a year that it doesn’t reach normal temperatures, but what’s the difference in a couple of degrees when it’s already balls cold, right? Either way I’m glad I’m not getting into that water this year…maybe next…but I still have to come up with $600 for the entry fee…
