One more week of pushing and I can finally turnoff the watch and sleep in a little. No more two-a-days, just one-a-day to no days. Hopefully it will all be there on the 26th. Tri-sg…you ready ?
Hmm…funny…I thought I replied the post just now…weird.
I’m as ready as I can be I guess… Just gonna enjoy the ride. Its just a “fun” outing after all isn’t it??? :)
How was 3-state-3-mountain?
Tri-sg,
I got your message but can not log-in from work. 3 State was great. Finally on the 3rd try I went over Lookout in a 39/23 and took about :40 minutes to do it…all of it out of the saddle. Ran 2 miles after the ride and another 6m the next morning. Drive home, I felt like I did an Ironman race. I hope that the poor biker that had the bad accident at 3 State comes out of this ok.He took a pretty bad hit. Since then training has gone ok I guess. Got 10th AG at Terre Haute and 3rd at Buffalo Trails, another 102 miler and a good long brick last weekend to. This weekend will be my last push before I can turn the watch off and sleep in. Head for CDA on the 16th with family in tow (3 kids & wife) for a 3 week western journey that has us going all over the west plus IM CDA.
The wierd thing about all this is tapering in June…I am usually cranking the miles out but now pulling back. Has been a crazy wet & cold spring here whch has made training sometimes difficult & all the stuff I do now for our region and USAT. After CDA, may race Tri America and Officate alot of races and IM MOO.
I know of about 8 other participants heading into CDA and you. How do I find Tri-sg ?
How will my race go. Hoping for a perfect day and just have to beat my IM LP time of 13:45. I feel ready, then I don’t feel ready. As always I say"give me one more month". But it is here and I will race this one and hope for a 12 hour finish.

looks like you did great!!
Kinda disappointed I couldn’t do the century…oh well…
I went for a trip to Venezuela and took part in a non-Mdot IM race there…I did 2.4/112/6…
EXTREMELY LONG WORKOUT!! But I got it done and feel much better…
Got some stomach bug afterwards and lost 8lbs in 48 hrs…horrible…and couldnt train for 6 days…
Things are just getting back into shape now
I’m be doing one more long ride and having fun in a Oly this sunday! THEN TAPER!!
You’ll leaving on the 16th??? Thats early…I’m flying in on the 21st…staying at rental house.
Remind me to PM you my cell b4 the 16th and we can hook up at CDA!
I can’t wait for taper and the race-day. I’m not going to get ANY fitter between now and then…so I just want to get it DONE!! hehehe
what a hell of way to lose weight, being sick just before the big race would put a huge decision on to go OR not to go. I have been real lucky this year, no sickness at all (first time in years) but the weather sure has not been good at all. Rain and cool temps…all the time. I have an 75 miler tomorrow and then an 13 mile run sunday and I am done. Go to 1 aday workouts and really push the swims until I rolout on the 16th.
leaving real early on this race. Packing the family up and heading out. Will be like Lampoon’s vacation without grandma on top of the car, but with the bike racked on the back. 3 weeks on the road this time. Going all over the place, all the historic sites, week at CDA race site, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Field of Dreams…then home. Also staying 2 days in Whitefish MT nad visit Hammer Gel/E-CAPS. They are a big part of this. After this trip, promised the wife I would back off racing for the summer (probably not) and work races and make the decison on IM MOO or IM Florida for 2006.
Will you be at the AA race next weekend ?
BamaIM
Its a good way to lose weight IF I actually have some weight to lose in the FIRST PLACE!! =p
145 lbs at 6-7% BF and losing 8 lbs isn’t very fun I tell ya…=)
Looks like you’re going to have a nice long vaca
I’m heading to Vegas after the race!
I’m doing Seahorse Oly this sunday, will not be doing AA…but I’m considering to volunteer at the AA race…
I can’t wait for race day…but I know…I’ll be freaking nervous when it comes…
Tri-sg,
Come on up to AA and volunteer, we could use ya. You can find me easily on race morning, I will be the one in a black & white shirt checking bikes and enforcing the rules of the day. My 3rd year in AA as Head Official.
