Carrying CO2 cartridges & inflator on bike

Where and how do you carry them in races?

most people have it on the rear of their seat post. I have an aero seat post so it wont fit properly. I carry it underneath the tube right between my legs. Works great…

I’ll see you that and raise you this:

But this does require you to use the saddle or flatwing

.

I race on tubies and tuck them into my folded spare. Spare and air all in one bundle when needed.

saddle bag.

Actually, they screw into bottle carrier mounts, as well. I do that for sprints and oly’s and tuck a spare tube and levers under the seat with a velcro wrap.

The bottom of the seat-tube is open on my TitanFlex, so, I just push one up in the seat-tube and put a piece of tape over it. I’ve got Slime in my race tubes, so, hopefully, I won’t ever need it…or, I’ll have such a hole that I’ll need a whole new tire, something that happened to me last year when something cut a big chunk out of my sidewall.

I use 2 Co2 cartridges, 1 razor blade and a pump head. I tape them all together and they fit perfectly into the gap in the seat rails right under/between the seat. I tuck it in there and then place the folded tubular spare behind the seat using a velcro strap. The folded tire keeps the Co2 and stuff under/between the seat rails. Works like a charm!!!

Another option, depending on your bike…I’ve got two cages rear-mounted as well as two on the frame. Rather than a saddlebag, I’ve got a water bottle filled with allen wrench, tire levers, two tubes and c02 cartridges. All fits in there nicely.
