Pale Blue Dot was the first audiobook I ever listened to, in fact I still have it.
Of course, I don’t have a cassette recorder anymore so I should probably just get the book.
I had the privilege of being in Prof. Sagan’s astronomy class when he won his Pulitzer. And yes, he always wore that jacket and a turtleneck.

I can’t express how jealous I am., that is just awesome.

you just happened to move up many notches in the coolness factor. i will forever be jealous.
i know these arent metal tibbs, but perhaps you will appreciate them. they give me goosebumps. brilliant minds!
The closest I got was dissecting several of Sagan’s writings in my science writing class. The man is a master of his craft.

Well, as I recall, it was a 12:20 class (right after lunch) in the comfy auditorium on campus. I remember one class where he showed slides taken by Viking 1 of the surface of Mars, naturally with the lights out. When the lights came back on, at least half the class was asleep.
I also remember a test question in which he asked a question about a professor driving his relativistic Porsche. That, and a TA teaching his class one day, explaining that Prof. Sagan was in California that day. That was code for “he’s on The Tonight Show tonight.”
