Has anyone found one brand to be of better quality or is really just which one you like the look of best?

Oh yeah, it is going on a black Murano, in case you were wondering.

Thanks

Doug

I think the various boxes are pretty comparable within the price points. when I was shopping around the major things I looked for were capacity, dimensions, shape, and color. mounting system and dual side opening (a big +) were also considered. of course, how it looks on your vehicle is a major factor, too.

I just liked the look of the Yakima…although they are all very similar, the Thule ones for sale when I got mine were mostly silver on top. I have an Xterra and the Yakima Rocketbox looks good on there…of course it kills my gas milage, well that and the fact that the Xterra is basically a box on wheels doesn’t help either. I know others that like the Thule too, so really if you cant decide between the two, go to a shop (like REI) and ask them to bring each one out and you can put them on your car to see what one you like better.

I’ve only used the Skybox. Big, the key system worked very well, and best of all, it clamped on the roof racks in about 1 minute flat. That was a HUGE plus.
