CarboPro 1200/Concentrated sport drinks -how much water needed?

Having always used Gatorade with one scoop of CarboPro per bottle for the first two bottles of an IM, then I use what’s available on the course - Gatorade also Gu then followed by water.

Looking at CarboPro 1200 to get my 250-300 calories per hour. Thus a bottle should last about 4 to 5 hours.

For those who use concentrated sport drinks, how do you determine how much water you should be taking in over the course of an hour.

Do I need to calculate how much net weight I lose on a long ride or is there some approximate measure on how much a person looses per hour for a given weight.

Any feedback on CarboPro 1200 now that is out.

I mix up a bottle of 1000-1200 cals mixed Gu20/carbo-pro for longer races. I then fill my profile aero with water - add 3 squeezes of the concentrated mix and drink it.

If your goal was about 8% - you’d want about 320 cals/liter. Big bottles are 28 oz so a bit less than a liter. So one big bike bottle of water per hour should be close if you do 250-300 cals/hr (at a minimum if you want to avoid too concentrated of cals).

Or you could say that 1200 cals is about 4 fold too concentrated and do 1 gulp concentrate and 3+ gulps water…
