Has anyone modified these bars to get them narrower? Even w/them set at the innermost setting, my elbows are a bit outside my knees.
I have…
If you get the old style bolt on arm pad holders (though they had a nasty habit of busting so Profile started to weld them). All I did was tap 2 holes into the stand, thread them and bolt on the arm pad holders…that being said, I then went to the regular holders and mount the arm pads as close together as they will go.
You could flip the “ZB brackets” (as Profile calls them) around, no? So, instead of this:
Do this:
Good luck.

Don’t know if you were aware, or even care, but Profile has recalled ALL of these “old style” bolt on arm bad holders (ZB Brackets, as they call them). I just received the updated hardware for my CarbonX unit actually. They sent new everything–spacers, ZB brackets, pad holders, and pads.

Good luck.

That wouldn’t work as there isn’t enough room for both extensions to point inwards.
If you wan´t to keep the height of the armrest you can always place the armrest in the bolt that makes the connection of the 2 pieces that are now welded. I think that you need to enlarge a hole to do that.
Ok scratch that then. Didn’t have my bars in front of me when I posted or else it’d probably been obvious. I thought I read something on Profile’s site, to that effect, but evidently not.

I don’t quite get that.
You can take off the bolt that connects the ZB bracket right (the black bolt in the pictures above)? i can.
Select the right hole that fits you best and voila. I´ve done it once (before taking of the ZB brackets to get lower) and works, The armrest may rotate a bit if you don´t bolt it snugly.
