Carbon Soloist, should I be looking at this?

Now, I’ve just sold my six13, it was ok but I spent a lot of time in the saddle thinking “why the hell did I spend all that money on this?”. I’m looking at replacements right now and the scott cr1 is pretty sweet and of course, the r2.5. I’ve talked to a few r2.5 owners and I think that I would probably like a stiffer bottom bracket. (I’m assuming this is why the carbon soloist was created.)

So, the carbon soloist looks neato but is totally unavailable until ??? (I’m guessing no time soon) I’m not in a huge hurry, but I’d like to get back on a nice road bike…

What didn’t you like about your Six13? Just curious. If you’re looking for a nice carbon bike with a stiff bb, go test ride a Trek Madone or Madone SL. I have a Madone 5.9; it rides better than my P3 by a good margin but has a super stiff bottom bracket. It is great for the climbs. Really an awesome ride. Well, it’s even more awesome because I built it up with Campy Chorus and some schweet wheels (DT RR 1.1 rims/Chorus hubs).

Edit: the Madone (non SL) might also be a good choice if you want a more “aero” road bike (like the Soloist). It was specifically designed for flat stages to give Lance that extra edge. And it’s still very light- my 60cm frame weighed in at 1260 grams. I believe the SL version is about 100 grams lighter.

I didn’t really not like the six13 as much I was just kinda neutral about it. It wasn’t the super duper light machine it was reported to be (yes, I know better than to ever believe hype)

I dunno, I was just expecting to be more blown away and in all honesty, I wound up riding my caad 7 more often (more responsive).

I have a record build kit with some nice wheels so I’m ready to build up something really sweet. We’ll see.

Oh boy, I wish I hadn’t looked at those photos. That is a really cool looking bike.
