saw a good deal on an fsa carbon crankset- I have always had dura-ace or ultegra cranks, I am a bigger guy- should I go for the carbon, or stick to the tried and true ( time to replace the ol crankset)
not really concerned about the weight-
highest concern and question is- are these cranks as strong and trustworthy as dura-ace cranks for everyday riding?
thanks for the advice!
I installed a pair of FSA carbon compact cranks on my bike before IM C’dA last year. Since then I have riden over 3000 miles on them and have had zero problems with them. I will probably move these to my cyclocross bike (when I get a chance to build it up) and replace them with one of the new intergrated BB FSA SL-K Compact Crankset.
BTW: I weight 223 as of this AM and weight in at 238 at Ironman C’dA 2004.
FSA gives a *ten year *warranty on carbon cranks. Shimano and Campy don’t do that for forged cranks.
