This is in California. I’d be surprised if the license is taken away. Maybe the family of the driver takes over and forces the issue, but if the driver wasn’t drunk…
The is my LBS and they just finished a major remodel days before making it a Specialized concept store. Total bummer.

It really wasn’t the drivers fault, probably a case of improper placement of the brake & gas pedals.
I would sue the car manufacturer.
