i saw that guy pass me, i thought that he had forgotten his running shoes, but the word on the street is that he wears them to run al the time!
The composition of the Croc is almsot the same material as the EVA padding in your shoes. While I doubt the have the same support as a nice pair of Asics, I could se running in them for a bit. Maybe he is on to something.
Bob
I hope he gets compensated well doing so.
Look like a sure way to set yourself up for a visit with the orthopedic surgeon in the near future (esp. achilles problems).
But who said our sport was healthy, anyway.
Anyone know who this guy is? I’d love to know what kinda mileage he gets out of a pair of Crocs running on the roads. (I’m serious.)
Steve
I will track him down and call him

I think he gets about 30 MPG city and 35 Highway.
I saw this guy. I told him he really needs to get sponsored by crocs. I bet they would go for it.
Too funny! I just got a pair of Crocs (given to me by one of the company founders). After years of puzzlement over why the heck people wear them, I put them on and said, “Whoa! These babies are comfy!” And light.
So, I went on run in them yesterday. No socks, just Crocs. I must say, these are nice shoes for an easy run. I am tempted to try them on longer outings.
A few years ago when I was running marathons, there was a guy who wore flipflops in races. I think he did Chicago marathon regularly. You could hear him coming up on you from 50 feet behind - and he was fast, too.
holy crap. I’ve gotta try it.
I saw a guy do the same in a small Iowa marathon back in 2000. Did this guy look like a beach bum and wear smiley-face shorts?

Here’s the guy you’re talking about. Calls himself “Hi Guy”. He’s done over 300 races in sandals.
