Canyon Speedmax Basebar

Does anyone know if you can swap a canyon Speedmax basebar CP0019 from scram to Shimano?

Basebar is the same, the grips are different. They’re not available for sale as a separate item. You could use a standard bar tape if needed.

Good to know about the grip.

What I am trying to understand, will the Shimano break levers fit where the old scram break levers would have been. Essentially is it the same base bar just fitted with the different group set or does the base bar only work with the originally group set it was fitted with.

Yes, the shimano levers will fit the same base bar - as Michal_CH has said the grips are different and they include the brake lever interface, so also need changing .

I changed my base bar from high rise to flat - the flat bar I fitted was second hand and had previously had Shimano levers, and I fitted my Sram, so there is no issue there. I’m not sure if you can get replacement grips from Canyon, I’d be surprised if they don’t sell these given potential wear and tear.

I found changing over the bars a real b@llache though, things may be a bit simpler if you are just changing the groupset, but if you need to change the brake hoses, prepare yourself psychologically. Make sure you tie a piece of sting or similar to the existing hoses before you pull the hoses out - getting the hose back through the bar without a draw string will give you no end of grief.
