To all those that live in Florida, heed my warning. To all the rest, be glad you don’t live in Florida.
So after confiring with some of my bestest of best buds here on ST I determined that in order to set myself up for a killer Marathon I needed to start building my running base early in the year so that about marathon season I can handle a few months of 70ish mile weeks. This translates into not a lot (absolutly none) of cycling.
So this after noon I decided to do a little catch up on my bicycle maintance. Turns out that in my leave of absence a friendly little critter we all call the “mud dobber wasp” decided that the head of my bicycle pump would be a great place to plant her larva…
Imagine the look on my face as i’m trying to find out why my tires will not inflate only to see mud and guts dripping out on my pump… turns out the critters don’t like 120psi.
All in all though, they seem to have gotten the last lauph as my pump is now shot on account of the fact that it seems like I have blown a seal somewhere in it when I was frantically pumping wondering why the presta valve was taking so long to depress…
Beat that one.
