Cannondale Capo 52 or 54?

Before you tell me to test ride the bike… I can’t.

I don’t have access to a 52 or a 54, the closest I can come is a 56.

I am 5’9" with a 32" inseam. Right now I am riding a 22 year old steel (Centurion Le Mans) frame that is too big with a dimension adjustable 125mm stem (http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=16591) pointing downward at probably a 45 degree angle converted as a fixie. I am looking to upgrade to nicer/lighter/smaller frame, so i am going to order the Capo, but I can’t decide on the size. Is it a good comprimise to ride a smmaller frame with a longer stem?

What are your thoughts on if you are on the fence o picking the smaller frame or the bigger frame?

On the fence, always go with the smaller bike. It’s easier to make a small bike bigger than a big bike smaller.

I’d rather have a lot of seatpost showing and a 130mm stem then the saddle sitting on the top tube and a 60mm stem.

+1 on the smaller bike. Plus, and I’m only repeating what my LBS guy told me once, I heard Cannondales run big.
