Cannondale bike fit question

I have the opportunity to get a really good deal on a cannodale Ironman bike. i can get any one, but it looks the the Ironman 2000 will be in my price range. Anyway here is my question:

i ride an R1000, 54CM frame. i like the fit. i love the bike.

everyone says the most important part about a tri bike is the frame fit. ok well not everyone, but alot of people. the shop i would get the bike from is really into selling cannondales. in fact, they would give me a much better deal on a cannondale than any other bike. how can i be sure the bike fits me well, if i know all they want to sell are cannondales? they are a not a tri specific shop, so they don’t carry alot of tri geometry bikes to compare fit.

I own a R3000 and a IM5000 in the same sizes. I used to work at a shop and the cannondale guys always told us to use the same sizes.

So if you fit on the 54cm, then buy the 54cm tri bike. Minor fit adjustments can be made afterwards.

I ride a 54 cm IM 2000 and have always been fitted on 54cm bikes. However, you will find that the actual frame (top tube height) on the IM 2000 is about 3cm shorter than other 54cm Cannondales. It is for benefits in the aero position.
