I guess I just wanted to know if it was well liked and comfortable. Since there is a lot of money involved, I really wanted to be sure before making that move. It really looks great. Did you add anything extra on after buying it? Thanks

Depending on which IM model you get - they are spec’d very nicely anyway.
Which one were you looking at - 600, 800, 2000, 6000?
I was thinking the 2000. I just not sure if now is the time. My first race is in May so perhaps I should wait until October to get one for next year. The last time I bought a new bike just as the season started, it took me forever to adjust.
What are you riding now? With a good fit - there probably won’t be too much adjustment
First what size are you? I have a pristine condition 04 Ironman 5000 Hollogram with dura-ace, ultegra and some crazy light parts on it for sale… 54cm, brand new visiontech bars, preferrably sold without wheels.
Or, go buy a new one as they are really sweet bikes. The frame isn’t as “exciting” as some other frames if you are looking for carbon fiber, tight wheel cutouts, etc, etc… BUT the frame quality is superb, the bike rides liek a dream and it builds up super light. They’ve really slimmed down the aero downtube on teh new models from the scary fat aero tubes of 2003 prev and the paint of some of the models is awesome. Personally I’m not too big on the 2005 paint jobs but if you like flames then they may be perfect. The S-bend seat stays are lighter than carbon and are not harsh at all. I have raced this bike in up to a half Ironman and would have no problem going for a full 112 on it, comfort was never an issue. I have the Hollowgram version with the team cranks and they are great, seem super stiff but creak a little no matter what you do. I just did a race today and was talking to the shop guys of a shop back where I used to live and they couldn’t bellieve that I was getting rid of the Cannondale. They told me that I would never find a bike, or at least a non-full carbon fiber would ride as nice without being all squishy. The Cannondale is like a rocket, nice and stiff yet doesn’t beat you up. Plus it’s an aero frame under 3lbs… The 2005s (plug for my bike again) sometimes come with full carbon Reynolds aero forks which make for a super light and aero combo. I am riding a Cannondale Multisport, I think 2000. I am 5’ so that limits me a bit. I would need no more than a 48. Sounds nice though, thanks for the offer. My biggest complaint about this one was that it did not seem as stiff as to what I had previously ridden which was a Trek. I felt I lost a lot of power. Perhaps I should not wait until Fall. I had (and also sell for a living) a Cannondale Slice/Speed Shadow frame from the '04 model year and raced on it throughout the season in 2004 locally in the sprint to 1/2 IM distances.
They are very sophisticated aluminum bikes. In particular I loved the ride comfort. The newest versions of this frame are incredibly comfortable and soft riding, and I like that. They are also nice and stiff at the bottom bracket. The bike was light too.
I had absolutely zero complaints with mine. I got an IM2000 complete, swapped the parts kit off and re build the bike from the ground up with Dura-Ace 10 speed, Visiontech aerobars, a carbon post, Selle Italia T1 saddle and raced on Zipp 909’s. I enjoyed that set-up very much.
My daughter rides a 48. She has only been riding it for a month, but she loves it. We bought the frame/crank and built it with Ultegra 10 speed, Easton fork and Bontrager Race Lite wheels. She was coming from a road bike, so I thought it would be more of a transition then it has been. She was pretty much immediately comfortable on this bike. The only issue she has had is some minor neck pain, which is a weak area for her due to an earlier injury. We debated about whether we should get the bike so close to the start of her season, but then the deal on the frame came up. It really is a beautiful frame and everyone that I spoke with about this frame gave it glowing reviews. I don’t think you will be disappointed!
I ride an 04 IM 2000. Absolutely love it. The only thing I’ve changed on the bike is I’ve added a carbon bar group. But this wasn’t out of necessity. I was perfectly happy with the original bars. It’s a pretty slick bike. Super confortable. Plenty stiff and responsive. I think for the price you can’t go wrong. It’s a quality ride.
