As for the Eilat Triathlon in Isreal, I heard it is a terrific event ! My buddies posted to UN Peacekeeping operations in the Golan Heights had rave reviews of this event.
He road really well for a 59 yo (1:12 on a tough course with a two 3k hills and some killer headwind).
Thinking of Slowtwitch, I took a pic of his bike after the race (atleast I thought this was his bike - not so sure now that I see it had aerobars on it…):
