Anyone know what’s going on with the Cancun 70.3? The registration link has been down for about a week. Has anyone here registered? Anyone know what the deal is? No response to emails sent their way…

bah i wish i could go to cancun to race… unfortunately for me im in the northeast and 20 yearsold… So i guess not anytime soon eh?
Same here, I’ve sent numerous emails and no response. It’s kinda late to be entering or rather opening registration. I suspect I miss the boat entirely.

Nevermind …I thought it was this year…I just saw that it said 2006.
Actually I do but I might be able to accommodate a few people. My parents are getting a house in Cancun but I am not sure which date it will be ready. I think it is October but I have to double check. If it’s ready you are more than welcome to stay.
2006? There is a race in Cancun in November 2005. Not sure what you meant about 2006.

I think it is a mistake on the website… it is this year…
I know all the info has said that it was 11/6/2005 but on the front page it says
“It is a pleasure to announce that Cancun, Mexico, will be part of the new New Ironman 70.3 Series for the next three years, with the inaugurating event taking place in 2006.”
I understand “inaugurating” to mean the first one.
A few weeks ago I talked to the Mexican Tri federation and I was told the race was this year… I am so confused!
Beats me. Ironmanlive has a list of qualifiers for the 2006 championships and Cancun 2005 is one of them. Seems like something is being lost in translation.
