Hi,
I am not one to post stuff to complaint about insignificant things, but I certainly do not like misleading advertising from any type of business plus getting the run around therefore my post.
Just a heads up since I have seen that a lot of people are planning or inquiring about Cancun 70.3. When I signed up for the race in late February, the official website had an offer stating that if you flew Mexicana (one of the main sponsors) your bike will fly for free. I have been ticket shopping until recently when I found a couple of good rates, one in Mexicana and another one in other airline but decided to go with Mexicana due to the free bike shipping offer. To my surprise after I email the Cancun 70.3 people with travel information so they will have proof and I could receive some confirmation on this, they replied first that it was incorrect, that the offer was for the 2006 race (although the banner and link were on their website at least until february 2007, 6 months after the 2006 race). When I emailed them back to let them know my surprise and displeasure with the situation then they said that, no, it was that Mexicana was not honoring the agreement and the athlete should “negotiate any discounts directly”, not much they could do.
Act accordingly, my tickets are not refundable so not much I can do but to loose the money.
Has anyone tried to get a voucher or was counting on this for purchasing tickets?
Peace
