Cancellara to ride a Spec. Transition in '09

Despite speculation of what bike he will or won’t be riding this year (no Walser or P3), it appears from his recent bike fit with Andy Pruitt that Fabian will indeed be riding a Transition for the 2009 season. It should be very interesting to see how his engine does atop the new steed.

PS: Apologies if this has been noted previously…

cool, he won’t be giving up too much time then!

But I thought he was only fast because he rode a Cervelo…what is happening, I’m all confused, I thought I understood that Cervelo meant “Brain Bike” and that’s why is was fast, because it could think, but now FC is messing with all of this. What happens if he wins WC again on a Transition…THEN WHAT…?

HELP!!!

As Robert DeNiro said to Al Pacino in “Heat…”

“There is a flip-side to that coin.”
.

What happens if he wins WC again on a Transition…THEN WHAT…?

It’s pretty straight-forward - he’ll be the World TT Champion again!!

The real question is: What happens if he doesn’t?

The real question is: What happens if he doesn’t?

Then he’ll not be the World TT Champion!

The real question is: Why would suspect he would NOT be riding a Transition in 2009?? After all Specialized is the bike sponsor of the team!

The answer is that many sponsored by Specialized last year rode Walsers re-badged with the mighty “S”…

Like who??

stephen schumacher rode a walser rebadged as a Specialized.

Your sarcasm is too early
you need to wait for him to pull some of the same ridiculous shit he pulled on Cervelos

THEN throw this sarcasm at us

Kohl and Leipheimer (when he was on GS) as well.

I think the better question is who did ride a Transition for Gerolsteiner last year…The answer? Um, virtually no one.

Bob

Got it, thanks.

With the price Specialized paid to sponsor Saxo-Bank Team there is zero chance any of the riders will be on non-Specialized bikes.

Reading some of the responses above about all the past ‘wins’ Cervelo has achieved…it’s hard to believe you will see anything close in the future…

I wonder why not?

Perhaps the walsers are just a bit better and they had the option?

Oh absolutely. But, if the Transition was all that and a bag of chips, they would have ridden it, but who knows…

Bob

That was a Gerolsteiner team thing. It was mostly the German guys that used the Walser. The same thing will be brought up this year when the High Road guys are still using the Giants in the TT’s instead of the Plasma. More of a contract thing than anything sometimes.

Oh, and Cancellara went pretty fast when he was winning prologues on his Pinarello a few years ago.

Davide Rebellin won Paris-Nice last year and rode a Transition in the TT, but he’s not German…

But…he finished almsot 30 seconds down on the field in that 5km prologue. Hardly a ringing endorsement of the Transition.
