Cancellara changing to deeper wheels in Stage 6?

I did not have the chance to see this stage live on TV. Checking the VeloNews stage clip it seems (hard to tell in the clip) that he changed to a bike with deeper wheels in the middle of the race, apparently because of “saddle problems”. If that really happened, Did he changed again to his usual depth wheels towards the end of the race?

Can someone that watched the race confirm this?

Thanks beforehand.

Sergio

From what I saw he was having issues with his original bike (w/ 808’s)…switched to a new bike with regular wheels for a short time…then got his original bike (w/ 808’s) back after whatever issues were fixed. I believe they mentioned saddle…but I don’t know if it was confirmed. You probably saw the switch to the new bike only…and not back to the original.

I found it interesting that he was riding 808’s for stage 6 and 606’s for the stage he won (4?). Maybe since this stage had a very wide and long approach sprint the 404 front was not needed??
