Canadian trying to register for triathlon in france need help

federation lisense field won’t accept my canadian lisense which starts with ON. any ideas how to get around it or what it might accept? Otherwise will have to pay extra 60 euro for one day lisense

Most domestic races won’t accept foreign licenses… The license fee is for insurance and your Ontario membership won’t provide you with insurance coverage for a race in France. You’re likely going to have to pony up for one day fee there…

Contact the RD.
I was able to race Alpe d’Huez no problem with my Canadian license.
You may have to enter a bogus # when registering and then just show your license when you arrive.

I was required to provided a medical certificate from my doctor for AdH well.
Had to pay $50 to get my doctor to do it and then they didn’t even ask at check in…

Thanks I just sent email.

Race director responded within a few hours and advised to click on ITU registration option which I did and it accepted my Triathlon Canada lisense. I might still have to cough up the 60E one day registration fee but even if I have to this race is a bargain. 310 euros maybe another 60. If you took your family they could stay in Turin (2hrs drive), Marseille or Lyon (3hours). It may turn out to be one of the crazier things I have done but it should be an experience. Thanks for all who helped.

you may still need the medical certificate but a note from your Canadian doctor will suffice. There is no need to spend money getting a certificate from a French doc.

Got that one covered. Thanks though. I can’t imagine trying to get a note from a French doc who knows nothing about me. Besides the whole Parle vous Anglais si vous plais? thing.
