Can UPS Ground be picked up at the depot?

My bike will arrive on Friday probably mid-afternoon at the UPS depot (UPS Ground). It is technically scheduled for delivery to my house on Monday.

Does UPS allow customers to pickup packages at the depot?

Yeah, you should call them.

Yes. It’s a pain in the ass but you can. I did this when I got my Giro Advantage II. You’ll have to go to the warehouse to pick it up.

Indeed you can. Call them with your tracking number and have them hold it at the depot until you get there. Make sure, though, that you can make it suring their depot hours of operation…some have pretty weird hours (mine is 7am-9am and 4:30 to 6 weekdays only).

Did someone forget to tell his wife about a new bike?

Maybe…but a Friday at the depot or a delivery on Monday…would you want to go ANOTHER weekend without your new toy? I’d be standing at their door when they opened first thing and wait for the truck carrying it to arrive.

Reality hit this morning for my wife when the charge appeared on the AMEX. I’m in trouble.

I’ll post pics of the fully built P2C with SRAM Red, Zipp cockpit and Zipp wheelset when I get it built up next week.

sounds nice. Where did you get it from

Well some additional considerations based on my experience with UPS - for UPS Ground shipments, although the trailer in which the box is loaded arrives at the distribution center, UPS does not like to leave boxes lying around so typically the the trailer will not be unpacked until pre-sort which would not happen until Sunday night or Monday morning. Unless you live in a remote or outlying area where UPS has smaller operational footprint, in larger metro areas UPS has multiple distribution centers which means the bike maybe in the geographic region but at a main sort facility before being sent to the specified center late Friday night. As already suiggested, you need to call UPS with the tracking number, explain that you would like to pickup the box Friday afternoon and ask if that would be possible.

Yea just let them know you’re coming.

I’ll ditto what ms6073 said. With a tracking # you’ll be free to pick it up at the terminal on it’s scheduled delivery day, but they aren’t going to unload traliers on Fri afternoon just so you can get your bike a day early.
