2min off 2006 half ironman world champ and runner up in hawaii! And he just came out of retirement. If he could get out of the water with norman 2min back he can ride 5+ on him that would give him 15-20min on anyone who can run. At ironman LP he ran a 2:55-2:56 and crushed the field by 25 min on the bike. macca and cowie are fast but not that fast.
uh. he didn’t win any other major race he’s entered this year - so I’m going to go with NO.
What Fatty said.
Steve is a great athlete but winning Hawaii requires investing the time.
My call is no low hours athlete wins Hawaii.
If all the top contenders eat what normann and faris had before the race last year, yeah, why not?

i agree…that would be his only chance
.
No, but Chuck Norris could.
An extreme long shot IMO. Instead we’ll see a replay of last year. Mostly the same players and similar outcomes.

I believe he will make things interesting. He is being coached by Brett Sutton, and he didn’t do a too bad of job coaching Chrissie Wellington.
No, he can not and will not win Kona. Z
He’s a stud on the bike but this is triathlon. He would have to improve a LOT his swimming and running.

sure. as soon as he starts doubling his hours. 4hrs/week wont do but 8 should be sufficient.
